After graduating in civil engineering at the University of Sofia in 1998, Konstantin Krahtov developed data information systems for large web agencies and thus acquired in-depth practical knowledge on the interface between computer science and mechanical engineering. As a research associate at the Department Process and Data Management in Engineering at the FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik, he deepened from 2001 on his competencies in the field of PLM with focus on configuration management. From March 2005 to February 2009 he became head of the department and focused on research in Feedback and energy management.
Inspired by the exciting research results he founded the company OpenExperience GmbH together with his partner Daniel Wacker in 2008. Thus, the innovation focus of the company is the long term major selling point, Konstantin Krahtov began to work on research subjects in 2012 and thus took a part-time job at the Institute for Information Management in Engineering (IMI) at KIT.
