  • Understand the role and the goals of data science in engineering
  • Know the relevant data science methods like simulation, optimization and machine learning, and can identify appropriate methods for an application
  • Know typical data sources, types and representations
  • Understand the mathematical and statistical foundations of selected data science methods
  • Acquire and process engineering data, perform exploratory data analysis and visualize data
  • Apply basic methods of supervised and unsupervised machine learning
  • Interpret and evaluate data science models
