Successful Presentation of „IntWertL“

From March 31 to April 4, 2025, the IMI of the KIT was represented at the Hannover Messe with the research project "IntWertL" (Intelligent Value Creation Networks for Low-Volume Lightweight Vehicles). Invited by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), the project team presented the latest developments at the joint stand of the Industry 4.0 platform - a special milestone for IMI and its partners in the project.
At the center of the presentation was the digital cooperation platform EcoVity, which emerged from the project. EcoVity is aimed in particular at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the automotive industry and enables them to join forces in flexible value creation networks. The platform aims to realize the economical and sustainable production of individual vehicles in small series - an approach that met with great interest.

Trade fair appearance with practical relevance

Visitors to the trade fair were not only able to find out about the theory behind EcoVity, but also experience concrete applications:

  • Live demonstrations of the software provided initial insights into the platform's functionalities.
  • The Cargo Box on show, a modular lightweight attachment that was created as a prototype of the newly developed platform, clearly illustrated how digital planning and real production can work together successfully.
  • The opportunity to become involved as a development partner or supplier without high hurdles was a particularly convincing aspect for SMEs.

A particular highlight was the accompanying specialist presentation on the EcoVity platform, which explained the concept and the underlying idea of “bundling” and “unbundling” in more detail. It showed how SMEs can contribute their strengths through targeted participation in modular process steps - from development to design and production.

Focus on collaboration and networking

The “IntWertL” project is an example of the future-oriented design of industrial value creation processes. The central idea is a digital platform designed to facilitate collaboration between different companies along the supply chain. The project will run until the beginning of 2026 and is coordinated by bwcon research GmbH, supported by TÜV Rheinland and supported by 22 partners from industry and research.

IMI is delighted to be involved in the development of such innovative solutions together with its partners and is pleased with the positive response at the Hannover Messe.
