In July, the IMI team joined the 24th Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS 2026) in Vienna with three presentations and one session. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and connect with researchers from around the world.

The IMI contributed to the following presentations:

  • Bastian Amberg, Thomas Bömer, Anne Meyer: Leveraging Large Language Models to Generate and Evolve Heuristics for Large-Neighbourhood Search: An Inventory Routing Problem Case Study
  • Katharina Glock, Anne Meyer: Data-Driven Redesign of Intralogistics Processes in a Transshipment Hub
  • Janik Bischoff, Özge Nur Subas, Fabian Dunke, Anne Meyer, Stefan Nickel, Kai Furmans: ware_ops_algos: An Open-Source Algorithm Library for Order Fulfillment in Warehouse Operations

Thanks to the organizers for a great conference!
