KIT Innovation Day in China

On 9 May 2016 the 1st KIT Innovation Day „Research to Business“ took place at the KIT China Branch in Suzhou Industry Park.

In context with the DAAD project “Strategic partnerships China – joint innovation in the province of Jiangsu and Greater Shanghai” this event targeted on the four partner universities of KIT (Tongji, Shanghai Jiao Tong, Soochow and Najing University of Science and Technology) as well as on local governmental departments and business companies. More than 100 guests were informed about technology transfer and innovation at the KIT.

From KIT participants were inter alia the head of the Institute of Information Management in Engineering (IMI) at KIT, Prof. Dr. Dr.-Ing. Dr. h. c. Jivka Ovtacharova, and Michael Grethler, Head of the Industry 4.0 Collaboration Lab at IMI. The focus on Michael Grethler’s presentation was in the close cooperation with the industry. Prof. Ovtcharova presented Industry 4.0 in view of the education, research and innovation activities of her institute. Furthermore, matchmaking with companies of the region took place.

This event was the beginning of the advancement of the cooperation with Chinese partners from universities and industry.
