The Virtual Reality Practical Course is held in English language since WS 2015/16.

Information Update

The application for the winter term 2019/2020 starts on 01. October at 12:00am in ILIAS and ends on 13. October at 11:00pm. Please fill in the questionnaire in ILIAS.

Please note that registering in ILIAS does not guarantee a place in the course. Participants will be selected dependending on their questionnaires. We will inform you via email/ILIAS until 14. October whether you got accepted.

ILIAS for both pratical courses

The Virtual Engineering Practical Course is for master students only whereas the Virtual Reality Practical Course is for bachelor students only. Please check your module handbooks for more information. Students from both courses will collaborate on projects.

Place: The first course takes place on 15. October in Kriegsstr.77, Seminar room 5th floor.

The practical course is offered in English language.

Learning Outcomes
The students are able to operate and use hardware and software for Virtual Reality applications in order to:
  • design solutions for complex tasks in a team,
  • solve subtasks within a specific work package in small groups, keeping the interfaces to other work packages in mind and
  • merge this solution in the final product.
 
Content
The Virtual Reality lab course consists of following three overlapping parts:
  • Basics: Introduction in Virtual Reality (hardware, software, applications)
  • Tool Kit: Exercises in the task specific software systems
  • Application: autonomous project work in the area of Virtual Reality in small groups
Soft Skills: Methodical approach to practical engineering problems, team and interdisciplinary work, time management.
